PARSIPPANY, NJ, January 25, 2006 – Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS), a division of Cendant Corp. (NYSE: CD), announced today that David Falter has been named president of Galileo Americas, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and Cendant subsidiary. Falter most recently served as the president of sister Cendant company, Orbitz for Business | Travelport, the provider of choice in corporate travel management.
In this role, Falter is responsible for the Galileo Americas Sales, Marketing, and Operations. His responsibilities also include the corporate direct business – providing Galileo services to corporations. Falter will continue to report to Ken Esterow, president and CEO of Cendant Travel Distribution Services’ Travel Industry Services Americas group.
“Dave has a strong track record of business innovation and entrepreneurial success,” said Ken Esterow. “His combination of strategic vision, marketing and sales savvy, technology acumen and operational skill make him the right person to lead Galileo Americas into its next stage of growth.” Esterow added, “His industry experience will directly benefit Galileo’s travel agency and corporate customers and his experience within TDS will make for a smooth transition.”
Falter joined Travelport in May 2004 as president where he successfully grew the company to a Top 10 Corporate Travel Agency in North America. Prior to Cendant, Falter held roles as CEO of various technology companies, a field executive for Sun Microsystems, and as an educator and executive director of the Center for Technology Commercialization at Northwestern University.
Falter has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, an MA in English Literature from the University of Virginia and a BA in English and Political Science from the Miami University in Ohio.
