The Italian carrier’s content secured for Galileo-connected travel agencies
Langley, UK, 14 September 2007, Galileo, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and subsidiary of Travelport, has signed a new full content agreement with Italian carrier Alitalia. The agreement will see all of Alitalia’s published fares and inventory, including its web fares, continue to be made available to all users of the Galileo system in Italy, Switzerland, UK, France and Spain.
The deal, which takes immediate effect, represents a continuation of Galileo’s successful strategy of securing full airline content programmes across the globe. “We are pleased to achieve a full content agreement with Alitalia and ensure a level playing field in the Benelux for our leisure and business travel agency customers,” said Marco van Ieperen, General Manager Galileo Benelux. “This agreement further illustrates our ability to work with our airline partners to reach a situation that is mutually beneficial for both parties and offers great value to our travel agents.”
